When Andrew Anastasiou started Pertemps Professional Recruitment in 2016, he couldn’t wait to get started.
“Rapid growth was very much on my mind, but I also knew how important it would be to make the business robust and sustainable,” says Andrew, who has three decades of public sector recruiting under his belt. “After all, having a really great idea and actually executing a successful start-up are quite different things.”
PPR was conceived with a unique offering in mind. Not only did Andrew want to supply local authorities and private institutions with health professionals and qualified social workers, but he has long been committed to adding strength in key areas with particular socioeconomic challenges.
He knew it would be important to include geographical reach in the plan, and this took shape, first with a move in central London, and the addition of an office in the north-west.
Andrew’s early career was spent as a classroom teacher, and it makes perfect sense for him to position PPR as a recruiter for the wider public sector. “There are so many synergies between social care and education,” he says, “and taking on Pertemps Education Network (PEN) and Hourglass has given PPR an impressive education recruitment offer and fantastic services for our client schools”.
“The two brands have their own expertise, and they both have invaluable experience working with education professionals and the schools they serve”.
PEN and Hourglass now operate as one business, with PEN continuing to find agile, energetic and reliable temporary teachers and support staff for its schools. Hourglass focuses on specialist recruitment: permanent teaching posts, candidates from overseas, and leadership appointments.
From the early days, PPR has enjoyed excellent relationships with managed service providers and continues to supply social workers through most vendors across the country. It has built a reputation for responding quickly and imaginatively to the challenges faced by its clients in health and social care. Equinox Consulting was founded in response to the more complex issues being faced by our clients. It provides solutions to clients’ most pressing issues, blending traditional mid-level management consultancy with project, executive search and recruitment solutions.
“We’re all incredibly optimistic about the future,” says Andrew, “we’ve achieved so much, but we’re determined to push ahead. I’m delighted to be in such great shape at this stage in the company’s development”.
PPR now employs more than 70 recruitment consultants and operations staff. We’ve always followed an uncompromising business plan which incorporates ambitious growth, increased geographical reach and impressive strength and resilience. We’re always looking for like-minded people to help us grow and develop. If PPR sounds like somewhere you’d like to be, we’d love to hear from you. Come and join us!
